CONFLICT & COMPROMISE ARE RICH TOPICS FOR SOPHOMORE SCHOLARS
Congratulations to the sophomores who competed at the local level in the Kansas City area round of National History Day on Saturday, March 3. Five Barstow students will move on to the state level after earning top three honors in their categories.
Students composed lengthy research papers, produced compelling documentaries and performed original historical dramatizations on topics related to the theme of Conflict and Compromise.
Wenhan Sun and Ricky Zhong placed third in the group documentary category.
Gwen Laub placed second in the performance category.
Angela Deng placed second in the research paper category.
John Lubianetsky placed first in the research paper category.
These students will compete at the state level in April, with a chance to compete at nationals in Washington D.C. in June. More than half a million middle and high school students around the world participate in the National History Day competition every year.
