Soni Patel, Board of Trustees Advancement Chair

We are grateful
to alumni, faculty and staff, parents and grandparents who supported The Barstow Fund in 2020-2021. Giving increased in percentage from nearly every donor group. The school also secured its largest donation ever with a generous $4 million gift from the Sunderland Foundation for IDEA Space KC. I am proud to be part of this community and to witness this unwavering commitment to Barstow. Thank you for your continued support in 2021-2022. We are stronger together.

FAQ

List of 4 frequently asked questions.

  • Why are gifts to The Barstow Fund important after I’ve already paid tuition?

Your tax-deductible gift helps make up the difference between tuition revenue and the actual cost of running the school. This is critical because tuition covers about 80% of the cost of educating a child at Barstow. Your gift supports the school’s ability to maintain small class sizes, retain world-class faculty and bolster the programs and traditions that define the Barstow experience.
  • How much should I give to The Barstow Fund?

All gifts of all sizes make a difference. We ask only that you make a gift that is meaningful to your family.
  • When do I need to make my gift?

You can make your gift whenever it’s right for your family. All gifts must be received on or before June 30 to be included in the current fiscal year.
  • Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes. One hundred percent of your gift to The Barstow Fund is tax deductible. The Barstow School is a nonprofit educational organization, a 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. A tax letter will be sent upon receiving your donation.
