Welcome to the area’s best program for adventure, enrichment and fun! Thousands of campers choose us because we have the most options, the best instructors and 35 years of experience as Kansas City’s top summer camp destination.
We develop our camps based on what you and your kids want. We heard your requests and in 2021, we're introducing Outside the Box camps for kids and parents — workouts, rec sports, cooking, even an exclusive college admissions bus tour for students entering grades 9-12. 
Our 2021 camp catalog is packed with hundreds of the most entertaining, engaging and educational options around. At Summer at Barstow, we understand that tans will fade, but memories will last forever!

About Our Camps

Academic Camps

Create the perfect balance of academics and fun for your child by selecting a morning academic camp and adding an afternoon art, swimming or sports camps. Academic camps are a great way to review, maintain and enhance skills introduced in the previous school year.

Early Childhood Camps

Mini and Kindi Camp supports campers as they grow physically, socially and emotionally. Early childhood professionals engage campers in independent and group activities to develop readiness skills at a 4:1 camper-to-staff ratio. Early Childhood camps provide a nurturing environment for each camper. Children must be three years old on or before June 1 and toilet trained to enroll.

Driving Directions

The Barstow School is located at 11511 State Line Road in southern Kansas City, Missouri.

  • From I-435

    Take the State Line Road exit. Travel south on State Line Road for approximately 1 mile. The Barstow School is located to the left (east) at approximately 115th Street. Look for the sign marking our driveway.
  • From Midtown/Plaza

    The Barstow School is only a 20 minute drive from the Country Club Plaza. Take Ward Parkway south to 89th Street. Turn right on 89th Street to State Line Road. Turn left (south) on State Line Road and continue to 115th Street. The Barstow School is located to the left (east) at approximately 115th Street. Look for the sign marking our driveway.
