Our admission office hosts events and experiences that will introduce you to our school and community in meaningful, experiential ways. We accept admission applications year round, with a recommended sequence of steps that will help you move easily from inquiry and applying to visiting and enrolling.

An interview is required for middle and upper school applicants. Our admission office will schedule your child’s appointment upon submission of an application.

Admission Shadow Days
All applicants will schedule a student shadow day to experience the classroom environment. This is an important part of the admission process. Applicants for grades 7 and up shadow on select Mondays, October through April. Students applying for grade 1 through grade 6 shadow on select weekdays January-May. Students applying for preschool, pre-K and kindergarten will attend our Early Childhood Roundup in February.

Rebecca Green Garry
Vice President Admissions
Rebecca Green Garry leads the team that will guide you through the application, financial aid and enrollment process at Barstow.
Rebecca joined Barstow in 2012 as communications coordinator. She also served as an assistant director of admission, marketing and communication. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas.
Because she's led hundreds of in-person and virtual tours for students and parents, Rebecca has a unique ability to answer your questions about everything Barstow – whether its academics, signature programs or our commitment to community and inclusivity. She can connect you with teachers, students and parents who can offer their perspectives on "the Barstow difference." Rebecca brings her personal touch to the admission process for every family.
Sydney came to Barstow as a teaching assistant for Summer at Barstow in 2013, and moved into the role of admission counselor in 2015. As enrollment manager, she makes sure families are familiar with the application steps and helps them manage the process from inquiry to enrollment — always available to answer your questions along the way.
Sydney has a bachelor’s degree in French and Secondary Education from Beloit College in Wisconsin and is certified to teach K-12 French.
Ellyn answers the first phone calls and emails from prospective families, begins their inquiry and admission process and greets every visitor when they arrive for an open house or tour. Her role as the admission administrative assistant is paired with her role as receptionist, where she always makes current and prospective students and families feel welcomed and valued.
Ellyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in studio art from UMKC.
