Super Bowl Preview

The most popular sporting event in America, the Super Bowl, will be played February 4, 2018. It will feature a rematch of Super Bowl XXXIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots, which the Patriots won.
Patriots Preview: The Patriots run of dominance continues as they will appear in their eighth Super Bowl over the last 16 seasons. Led by all-time great Tom Brady, the Patriots offense has been almost unstoppable all year. Brady was stellar in the postseason, leading the Patriots to a 35-14 demolition of the Tennessee Titans in the divisional round, and a clutch 290 yard and 2 TD performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship game. The effort was especially impressive considering that the Jaguars have one of the best defensive units in all of football. With their experience and talent, the Patriots are the clear favorites to win their sixth Super Bowl in franchise history.

Eagles Preview: The Eagles were the only team in history to be underdogs at home as the top-seed in two consecutive playoff games. Why? Because of the season-ending injury to second-year quarterback sensation Carson Wentz. He tore his ACL week 14, which forced Nick Foles into the starting role. After doing just enough to beat the Falcons 15-10 in the divisional round, Nick Foles had an outstanding game in a 38-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings that sent Philly back to the Super Bowl for the first time since Andy Reid was the head coach. The Eagles will need Foles to have another solid game and a huge day from their defense, in particular, their defensive front. If Philadelphia can get pressure on Tom Brady and force ill-advised throws, while getting 20-plus points from Foles and the offense, then the Eagles stand a decent chance of knocking off the reigning champs.
