KNIGHTS ROLL IN COLUMBIA MID MO TOURNAMENT

The Barstow boys tennis team remained undefeated after traveling to Columbia, MO for some tough competition.  In the opening match in the morning, the Knights defeated likely the strongest large class team north of the river, Liberty High School, 5-4.  In the doubles, playing #2, Liam Groden and Sanjeev Adma played an outstanding match.  Taking away the middle of the court with strong net play and consistent returns, Sanjeev and Liam won 8-0.  At #3 doubles.  
At #3 doubles Shayan Adma and Ahraar Azaz picked up a crucial point with a 8-3 win.  With timely use of lobs and consistent service returns, Ahraar and Shayan dominated from the outset.
In singles at #2, Saam Biria rolled to a 6-0 opening set win and hung on for a 6-0, 6-4 victory.  At #3 singles, Sanjeev Adma displayed a steady baseline game and strong serves and held easily for a  6-3, 6-1 win.  Liam Groden at #4 singles rolled early, 6-2, but dropped the second set, 2-6.   In the third set super tiebreaker, Liam dominated from the outset.  With consistent first serves and strong returns Liam rolled to a 10-2 tiebreak win for Barstow's 5th point to clinch the match.
