Grade 5 Prepares for DC at State Historic Site
Fifth graders visited John Brown Memorial Park and Museum in Osawatomie this week in preparation for their trip to Washington, D.C in April.
Students learned about John Brown, his role in the abolitionist movement in Kansas and the events leading up to the raid on Harpers Ferry. They will visit Harpers Ferry during the Washington D.C. class trip April 29-May 3. In-person learning opportunities such as these visits to historical sites are an important element of Barstow’s mission to educate mind, body and character.
