Singer Adds Voice to All-State Choir

Senior Dylan Markey is representing Barstow in Missouri's All-State Choir this week in Osage Beach. He is one of only 192 vocalists chosen from across Missouri to perform with this elite group.
This honor highlights Markey's exceptional vocal talent and dedication. Chosen through a highly competitive audition process, Markey was one of only six tenors in the Kansas City Metro area to participate in the ensemble.

"Dylan's inclusion in the Missouri All-State Choir reflects not only personal achievement, but also underscores the commitment to musical excellence fostered by The Barstow School," Middle & Upper School Choral Music Director Dr. Josh Markley said.

The Missouri All-State Choir brings together the state's most accomplished high school singers for an unforgettable musical experience. Under the direction of a world-renowned choral conductor and composer, students began rehearsing together on Wednesday, Jan. 24. They will perform a culminating concert on Jan. 27 at a Lake of the Ozarks resort for families and hundreds of music educators and performers from across the state.

Markley added, "Dylan's selection is a testament to his hard work, musical prowess and his dedication to learning. The upcoming performance with the Missouri All-State Choir is a well-deserved honor."
