Volleyball Team Wins Tournament & Season Opener
The varsity volleyball team started their season with a five-game sweep at the Van Horn Tournament and a strong 3-0 win over Cass Midway on Tuesday, August 31.
The team is back on the court together after almost two years and has proved that they are ready for the season. The six-game winning streak is the best start the program has had since 2018 when the team were conference champions and finished second in Districts.
Senior leadership has been crucial to the team's success with six of the ten members graduating in 2022. Two important wins were against Class 4 schools, Winnetonka and Raytown South. Barstow defeated both teams without either getting above 20 points.
The team has its first home game on September 7. The JV team plays at 5 p.m. and the varsity team plays at 6 p.m.
