Tom O'Brien Honored as Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Coach Tom O'Brien, named the 2021 MSHSAA Class 1 Boys Tennis Coach of the Year on Friday, Aug. 27.
Coach O'Brien accepted the award award from MSHSAA Assistant Executive Director Kenny Seifert during a surprise presentation before the girls tennis Great 8 Tournament at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia.
O'Brien started coaching boys and girls tennis at Barstow in 2006. Since then, he has won state championships with both the girls and boys teams, most recently bringing home the boys' title last spring. His players have also won three singles and six doubles state championships.
