HoloLens 21.9 Billion Dollar Contract

The future is near; Microsoft signed a contract that could be worth as much as $21.9 billion in the near future. The U.S Government granted them $500 million to develop the Hololens and provide prototypes for consumers. This product involves very advanced technology and is often described as something you would see from a sci-fi movie. “The standard-issue HoloLens, which costs $3,500, enables people to see holograms overlaid over their actual environments and interact using hand and voice gestures.” The military will especially benefit from this new technology.

For example, soldiers would be able to fight, rehearse, and train simultaneously with instructions displayed on HoloLens glasses. Thus, this technology would help speed up the training process significantly. This will allow the soldiers to fight in one system connected via these glasses which will enable them to communicate with ease. 

Microsoft’s partnership with this promising technology has led to the stock price of Microsoft increasing as a direct result of investors purchasing more Microsoft stock. Investors are betting that this contract will lead to more opportunities for Microsoft, which, in return, will generate a lot of revenue for the company. 

Although the Military has decided to fund this project, this product can be used by citizens. Either daily life, such as cooking as it will display recipes and other items in front of you without having to use any other device. This could also be used for texting as you would be able to contract it with your eyes as well. 

Overall, this contract is a huge step for both innovation and the United States as a whole. It will make a huge difference in both the army’s and people’s lives. The faster the military trains troops, the more fighting power we will have to protect the citizens of the United States.
