ART, MUSIC AND HISTORY COME TOGETHER IN LOWER SCHOOL
Music, Missouri and America. Projects on display in the lower school hallway are examples of cross-curricular collaboration among three different disciplines.
Third grade students recently researched and wrote papers about famous Missourians. They also worked on portraits of their chosen subjects—including dancer Katherine , architect Nelle Peters, zoologist Marlin Perkins and baseball player Buck O’Neil—in Ms. Kukuk’s art class.
Grade 5 prepared art projects to accompany their spring music program, “Celebrate America.” Each student painted one of the fifty states in the style of abstract expressionist painter Jasper Johns. The colorful paintings were included in a video that preceded the program on Thursday, March 7
