Hurricane Laura has caused significant havoc and destruction in Louisiana.
Louisiana has been hit with many hurricanes throughout the years, but Hurricane Laura is the biggest storm that has ever reached the state. The hurricane was a Category 4, consisting of one-hundred-fifty-mile-per-hour winds. The hurricane caused significant damage to many homes and took the lives of six.

People who were affected by the hurricane described the damage that surrounded their town as catastrophic. Buildings and houses were destroyed by debris and high-speed winds. Capital One Tower, a famous regional hub in the Lake Charles area that consists of crowded casinos, buildings, and petroleum plants, was destroyed. The recovery will take lots of time, but in the meantime, the community has come together to mourn the people who lost their lives from this tragedy.

Many people lost their lives during the storm. In Louisiana, six people lost their lives. Four people who lost their lives were killed by falling trees, this included a fourteen-year-old girl who was killed in her home from a tree falling on her house. The deaths in Louisiana were a huge tragedy and many other people were injured. The citizens of Louisiana have set up many GoFundMe pages to help those who lost their homes and lives during this tragedy and many people in the state have united together to help those that are in need.

B-Line

B-Line students write articles that capture what it means to be part of the Barstow community, and record, review and analyze current events.

B-Line's origins date back to 1897, when students published "The School Paper," from Barstow's Quality Hill campus. It was published under various names in following decades, including "The Cornpatch," when Barstow moved to State Line in 1961. Today, B-Line is primarily a digital publication.
