Global Education Program

As a cornerstone of Barstow's world-class education, the school is committed to preparing globally competent students who value interaction with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, employ diplomacy and hone leadership skills to adapt to an ever-changing world.

Program Pillars

Students explore all aspects of school life at a partner campus and the surrounding community. During home-stays, students are immersed in a different culture, experience new perspectives on global issues and improve language skills.

Students participate in classes and activities that honor cultures, traditions, histories and religions to deepen their understanding of the world. Each trip offers additional instruction in subjects including history, art, photography or science.

Service Learning
Through service learning during their travels, students engage directly with communities around the world. They address real needs and actively work to solve issues at home and abroad.

Barstow is excited to announce the Global Scholars designation, an exciting addition to the Global Education program.

A Global Scholar is an upper school student who has demonstrated a strong interest in international affairs, cultures and citizenship by successfully completing a specified global curriculum and engaging in co-curricular activities which foster a heightened global competence. The Global Scholars designation will be entered on the student transcript upon completion of all requirements.
