Barstow's award-winning middle and upper school debate programs do more than teach students critical thinking, organization, reason and research skills. They instill a confidence and global awareness that students carry with them into college and beyond.

Led by Director of Debate Linda Collier, middle and upper school debaters routinely win metro, regional and national accolades. Students work on debate throughout the school year and part of the summer, and then compete October through March. Barstow's middle school debate team is has earned six consecutive City Champs titles and the upper school program is recognized as one of the top debate programs in the country.
