MATHCOUNTS is a nonprofit organization that provides engaging and challenging math programs to middle school students of all ability levels to build confidence and enthusiasm for math and problem-solving. At Barstow, students in grades 6, 7 and 8 participate in weekly math clubs that prepare them for MATHCOUNTS and other annual competitions. Students are coached by Ms. Charlotte Keith, who helped create the Kansas City area MATHCOUNTS group.
