Following a first place finish at the regional MATHCOUNTS competition on Saturday, Feb. 3, Barstow will send eight students to the state contest in Columbia next month—potentially the most students participating from a single school.
Congratulations to Paranjay Sharma, grade 6, who placed first in individual competition. Christopher Ramsey, grade 8, finished second. Sharma, Ramsey, Sidd Jasti and Avisha Pandey, grade 8, finished first in the team competition.

MATHCOUNTS is a national program in which students compete in live, in-person contests against and alongside their peers from other schools. It is open to all students in grades 6-8.
