Some of the most authentic Mexican food in Kansas City is served at this modest taqueria, and it’s cheap! Inside the brightly decorated restaurant, there’s also an ice cream station with unique flavors and toppings like Gansito, which is a snack similar to a Twinkie. However, if you’d like a greater variety of Mexican food in a more conventional restaurant setting, the same owners operate another Dos de Oros nearby, differentiated by the lack of Taqueria in the name. The more formal restaurant allows customers to order at their tables rather than at a counter. There is, unfortunately, no ice cream counter there.
