The Barstow School Theatre Department will take a show on the road this summer, first to a Kansas City stage and then on to Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The theatre department will present “A Picture's Worth Five Dollars,” an original play by junior Ethan Doskey, on the Jerome Stage at The Unicorn Theatre July 21–28. In August, students will travel to Scotland for with Director of Theatre Bob Kohler to perform the show at Festival Fringe. It is Barstow's second trip to the festival—a group also performed in Scotland in 2010.
The American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) makes it possible for performing arts students to showcase their talents and skills on the international stage. Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the world’s largest performing arts festival. Barstow actors will give four performances of “A Picture’s Worth Five Dollars,” August 4–9, and they’ll have the opportunity to see productions from around the world.
