Middle School Science Bowl Competes at State
The middle school Science Bowl teams, coached by Dr. Ben Ozenberger, competed at a state contest at Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday, March 2.
Team 1 placed fourth in the state. Competitors were eighth graders AliAkbar Khumri, John McKinney and Adit Reddy, and seventh graders Vaishnav Nair and Diya Kiran Krishnan.
Team 2 won four rounds and was eliminated only after being defeated by Barstow Team 1. Competitors were eighth grader Anya Reddy, seventh graders Zahra Khumri, Sarthak Pandey and Varen Kolli and sixth grader Michael John.
Team 3 defeated Team 1 from another middle school. Team 3 competitors, all new to Science Bowl, were eighth grader Joseph Giocondo and sixth graders William Drake, Veer Singh, Krish Iyer and Jack Rider.
