Varsity Debate Rises to Challenge at Crabtree Classic
The varsity debate team won two awards in policy debate at the Crabtree Classic Speech and Debate Tournament, hosted by Park Hill High School, Jan. 30 and 31. The tournament featured 34 schools from across Missouri.
Seniors Darin Goodman and Aun Hathiari advanced to the quarterfinals in varsity policy debate. Freshman duo Noah Dutton and Gui Tabuchi, competing in the varsity division for the first time, also advanced to the quarterfinals.
Freshman Venkat Gogineni, also competing in varsity for the first time, was the ninth seed in varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate which featured 80 participants. Venkat missed advancing to the elimination rounds by just one place.
