Pretenders Present Annual Play

The Pretenders turned the calendar back nearly 40 years for its annual play, "That's Not How I Remember It," on Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Raymond B. White Auditorium.
The short comedy tells the story of how a couple met in 1986 — described in the play as "pretty much the most awesome year ever" — from two different perspectives. This homage to 80s movies is part rom-com and part karate battle, depending on who's telling the tale.

Directed by senior Sanjeev Adma, the cast included students in grades 8-12, including CJ Wilson, Edward Judge, Matt Doss, Roland Kaufman, Gia Khan, Fin Geraghty, Lilly Lea, Cole Mueller, Rowan Platt and Stella Rosenthal. Elliott Clement, Charlotte Turner, Eric Dunn, Ava Shepard, Cayden Crosby and Sam Golladay rounded out the production crew.

The Pretenders is The Barstow's oldest club, formed during the 1909-1910 school year. Originally, the club committed itself to performing the works of William Shakespeare, but as the club grew in numbers and popularity, members began producing their own other works, typically one-act dramas and skits. This year's club officers are Sanjeev Adma, Roland Kaufman and Rowan Platt.
