The Mallory Hilvitz Spirit of Creativity Award is named for former longtime art teacher, Mrs. Mallory Hilvitz. This award is given to students who show a love of learning and creativity, along with showing exceptional kindness and enthusiasm towards the school community. Mrs. Hilvitz was present this year to help present the awards.

The Matt Gannon Investment & Involvement Award is named for a former Barstow faculty member Matt Gannon, who passed away in 2019. Gannon taught middle school social studies, coached the Cross Country team and worked for Summer at Barstow for three years. Recipients of this award are, like Matt, involved in a variety of activities outside the classroom, applying themselves and doing their best.
