Seventh Grade Explores, “What Makes a Human?”

Students in Dr. Ben Ozenberger’s Life Science class spent time this semester studying the tissues, cells, organs and systems that make up the human body.
At IDEA Space, they used different materials to build models of different parts of the body. The finished projects show the marrow, blood vessels and spongy materials that make up the inside of bones, the structure and function of muscles and each step of the digestive process. Some students provided information on diseases that affect the parts of the body that they chose to focus on, or career paths that someone interested in that specific part of the body might choose.

Students displayed their 3D models along with their research in the Middle School Commons during the week, with several opportunities for faculty, students and guests to view the projects and ask questions.
