Kindergarten and Senior Buddies Carry On Tradition
Kindergartners and seniors began getting to know their new buddies during their first activity together this year, a scavenger hunt around the Barstow campus.
Working together to follow clues, students visited campus locations including the BTVN studio, Hall of Champions, the giant chess pieces in Price Hall and the portrait of one of the school's founders, Mary Barstow.
The annual buddy tradition connects each kindergartner with a senior who becomes a friendly face to look up to. Throughout the school year, buddies will meet for activities and games, giving students in both classes opportunities to spend time together and build friendships.
The connection continues throughout the year as the kindergarten and senior classes celebrate their friendships and the different stages of their Barstow journeys. The two classes will be recognized and celebrated during a reception with family and friends at the end of the year.
