Middle School Robotics Team Wraps First Season

The Rabid Rabbots, Barstow’s middle school robotics team, concluded their inaugural season this week at the FTC Kansas City East Tournament, competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge against primarily high school teams.
Entering as rookies with a robot built and refined at IDEA Space, the team delivered a strong showing and consistently held their own against veteran competitors. In several matches, the Rabbots played decisive roles in victories, and in one standout round, nearly defeated two high-performing robots while competing alone.

Although the team ultimately finished out of the top rnkings, students left the competition energized and proud of their progress and growth throughout the season.

Middle school robotics coach Remy Hall praised the team’s progress this season and credited IDEA Space mentors Aaron Dalton and Bree Pusey for their technical guidance and steady support — which helped shape the team’s development from its first practice to its final meet.
