IDEA Space Projects Chart Creative Courses

Engineering escape rooms, understanding human organs, traveling North America and designing a mini-golf course—it all happened this week at IDEA Space.
Third graders reflected on the best memories of their year by building miniature golf obstacles based on their favorite experiences. All obstacles were set up together at IDEA Space to create a course, which family and friends were invited to play on Thursday morning, joining the third graders in reflecting on some of the best parts of the year.

First graders met for a travel and geography-related activity that they called North America Day on Friday, May 2. They created passports and “travelled” to Canada and Mexico to do different activities to learn about each place, including building pyramids out of legos.

Middle school classes also explored miniature models this week. Eighth grade social studies students considered parts, pieces and processes as they designed, engineered and built models of their own unique escape rooms. In seventh grade science, students took a hands-on approach to learn about anatomy and the human body, creating 3D models of bone structure, organs and bodily processes. They will display and present their final projects during the day on Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 in the Middle School Commons.
