    Two upper school musicians have been selected to perform with the KC Metro All-District Orchestra. Congratulations to freshmen Phoebe Martin, on viola, and Helton Walker, on violin.

    Middle school debaters continued their season on Thursday, Nov. 19, with another online tournament hosted by DEBATE-Kansas City. Of ten places available to students in the competition, Barstow earned seven of them — including a pair of first place finishes.

    Nine students received medals for earning high scores in the National French Contest exam last spring. Madame Coventry gave students their awards and certificates during a brief and blustery ceremony in the Senior Circle on Monday, Nov. 9

    Four senior athletes will continue their athletic careers at the college level in 2021. Brylee Glenn, Jaelyn Glenn, Kiyley Flowers, and Sage Holmes signed collegiate letters of intent on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

    Debate Posts Wins in Weekend Tournament

    Competing over Halloween weekend dressed as characters from "Avatar: The Last Airbender," the upper school debate team used its powers to earn awards at the Iowa Caucus virtual tournament.

    The work of ten seniors who participated in the "Dear Poet Project" will be featured on Academy of American Poets website this fall.

    Debate Team Starts Season with a Winning Record

    The upper school debate team began its online season at the Trevian Debate Tournament with a winning team record and two appearances in the elimination rounds.
  • Committee on Inclusion, Diversity and Equity

    The Barstow School created the Committee on Inclusion, Diversity and Equity in mid-June. The school’s formal review of diversity began during the 2019-2020 school year, when a subcommittee of the President’s Council began examining diversity at our school and set the stage for our current Committee on Inclusion, Diversity and Equity.
  • The RaHMS unit from Black and Veatch will serve as a second temperature screening location 7:30-8:40 a.m., Monday-Friday.

    Second Temperature Screening Site Opens Oct. 5

    Barstow is partnering with Black & Veatch to provide a second location for morning temperature screenings beginning Monday, Oct. 5.

    Though our campus remains closed to all but essential staff, we are working to welcome students back for the 2020-2021 school year. At this time, we plan to resume teaching and learning on campus on Aug. 20.
