Pad Thai Restaurant Review

Solomon Park
When thinking about the best grub in Kansas City, one tends to salivate over burnt ends, perfectly cooked pork ribs, and my favorite, dinosaur-sized beef ribs with bark more aesthetically pleasing than a celebrity Instagram page. However, KC offers more than just delicious barbeque.
If you like Asian fare, I suggest Pad Thai, located at 14319 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park. It has a steller OpenTable rating of 4.8 stars and the food never disappoints. Pad Thai is Thailand's national dish and for good reason. During WW II when Thailand faced rice shortages, Pad Thai played an important role in feeding the population as it promoted the use of calorie-stretching rice noodles instead of rice. The dish that bears the restaurant's name, the Pad Thai, is a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and sour. However, my personal favorite is the steaming plate of shrimp and pineapple fried rice, full of classic Thai flavors and chunks of pineapple and shrimp. Everything is tasty at Pad Thai, including the homemade sriracha, that in my opinion should be bottled by the gallons. With impeccable design, service and consistently delicious food, Pad Thai is a hidden gem that I would encourage everyone to visit.
