The Barstow School has once again been recognized as one of the Kansas City area's favorite schools, earning seven awards in the 2026 Kansas City Favorites contest presented by The Kansas City Star.
Barstow received Gold Awards for Favorite Preschool, Favorite Middle School and Favorite Summer Camp. The School also earned Silver Awards for Favorite Elementary School, Favorite High School and Favorite Private (Independent) School.
The Dan & Cassidy Towriss IDEA Space, powered by Barstow, also received a Silver Award in the Favorite Tutoring/Educational Service category.
More than 270,000 votes were cast across all categories in this year's contest, reflecting strong community support for local businesses and organizations.
The 2026 honors mark the fourth consecutive year Barstow has been recognized in the Kansas City Favorites awards, continuing a tradition of excellence across its academic programs and enrichment opportunities.
