Middle and upper school debate teams ended their season with an in-house tournament, dinner and a presentation of awards and recognitions on Wednesday, May 6.
Barstow’s debate teams participated in 18 tournaments at local, regional, state and national level. They won 28 awards in policy debate and Lincoln-Douglas, and qualified two policy debate teams and two Lincoln-Douglas debaters to the state tournament. At the state level seniors Aun Hathiari and Darin Goodman placed second in policy debate; junior Rex Parker and freshman Gui Tabuchi placed fourth. In Lincoln-Douglas, freshmen Venkat Gogineni and Miya Parker placed fourth and tenth, respectively. Freshmen Noah Dutton and Gui Tabuchi qualified for the NSDA National Tournament and will travel to Virginia in June to compete.
