Soloists Rank at District Music Contest
A group of student musicians represented Barstow at the MSHSAA Solo and Small Ensemble Contest on Saturday, March 28 in Grain Valley, Missouri.
Barstow was one of 19 schools to participate, with students in both the instrumental and vocal music programs receiving honors. The orchestra program is in its third year, with students participating in district level contests for all three years.
The following soloists earned the highest possible rating, Exemplary (gold), and qualified for the state-level competition in April:

Amelia Kalahurka, sophomore – Cello
Henry McGinnity, freshman – Violin
Cole Mueller, junior – Voice
Sanjeev Adma, senior – Voice
Three students also earned an Outstanding (silver) rating:
Tarek Tuffaha, freshman – Violin
Nisah Hathiari, freshman – Voice
Matt Doss, junior – Voice
