The world of work is changing fast — and today’s middle and high school students in the Kansas City metro will enter careers shaped by artificial intelligence. According to LinkedIn’s "The Work Shift," hiring is growing in technology, media and manufacturing across the Midwest and the country. IDEA Space has an exclusive opportunity to become confident using generative AI tools this summer.
AI careers are no longer just for coders. Today’s fastest-growing roles include engineers, builders, consultants and storytellers who can explain, apply and lead with AI. For Kansas City public, private and independent school students, learning to work with AI builds critical thinking and communication skills that stand out in college applications and future careers.
Exclusive Kansas City Opportunity: Inspirit AI Summer Intensive
This summer, students in rising grades 8–12 can participate in a two-week, in-person AI intensive hosted at the Dan & Cassidy Towriss IDEA Space. "Designing Projects for Social Good with Generative AI" is a project-based program by Inspirit AI, developed and taught by Stanford, MIT and Ivy League alumni and graduate students.
Students will explore leading AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Cursor and Lovable, then design and build their own original AI-powered project addressing a real-world challenge in healthcare, education, sustainability or equity. The program ends with a formal project showcase and demonstration.
Why AI for Social Good Matters
Colleges and employers are looking for students who can apply technology with purpose. Learning to use AI for social good shows leadership, initiative and problem solving — qualities that set students apart in competitive college and internship searches. This is more than a tech course; it’s college prep for the future.
