Barstow Earns AI Education Endorsement
Barstow is one of 31 schools globally, and the only school in Kansas City, to receive the Responsible AI in Learning, or RAIL, endorsement from Middle State Association. RAIL is the only AI education endorsement available for K-12 schools in the world.
RAIL-endorsed schools have gone through a rigorous process to create assets that help make their entire school ready to “stay safe and stay ahead” when it comes to AI literacy, safety, and ethics. This framework will guide the ethical and effective integration of AI in our classrooms, ensuring our students are prepared for the future with safety, ethical leadership, and innovation at the forefront.
The “Bipartisan AI Task Force Report: Implications for PK-12 and Higher Education” recommends the promotion of AI literacy as a core skill, similar to digital literacy. This calls for state and federal support to integrate age-appropriate AI education, allowing students to become “informed consumers and responsible users of AI tools.”
