The College Counseling Department helped students connect with more than fifty colleges and universities across the country this week, culminating in the Barstow Mini College Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
"We had a very successful week across four days," Associate Director of College Counseling Caelin Anderson reported.
Along with 27 individual college representative visits, another 25 schools were present at the fair. This is an annual opportunity for Barstow students to learn about the college search and selection process, how to introduce themselves and initiate discussions with admissions personnel and how to develop their unique search list as they approach the application and admission season.
The college search process is an integral part of the Barstow experience. Our personalized program — built on relationships with students, parents and college representatives — yields impressive results. More than 80% of Barstow seniors are accepted to their first or second choice school each year. That success is due to a highly effective program that incorporates academic planning, exploration, school selection and application.
Upper school students will have ongoing opportunities to attend college fairs around the metro this fall, as well as information sessions and in-person visits on campus that are helpful in the search and selection process. Bookmark the Barstow College Counseling page here.
