Fifth Graders End Year With Recognitions

Fifth graders gathered with teachers, family and friends in the auditorium Wednesday morning, May 15 to celebrate the end of the school year and their upcoming transition to middle school.
Two students received special recognition for their achievements this year. Yara Alchekakie, state-level winner of the DAR American History essay contest, was invited to share her winning essay on John Philip Sousa. Because she missed the April awards ceremony in Wichita due to weather, she was presented with her award after reading her essay.

Lilly Kessner was also recognized for her entry to the Charlie Hustle Communi-TEEs t-shirt design contest. Lilly has been selected as a finalist for her design. The winning design will be printed on t-shirts and be available for purchase.

Fifth graders then enjoyed a slideshow presentation with highlights from the year, including the Washington D.C. Trip in April.
