Middle & Upper School Summer Reading List
Barstow's middle and upper school summer reading program reminds students of the joys of imagination, the thrill of adventure and the necessity of compassion.
The summer 2024 list features classics and recent prizewinners, reliably unreliable narrators and flights of fancy. Students will engage novels serious and challenging, hysterical and shocking, innovative and philosophical.
The English department asks students to make sure the reading gets done before class starts. Parents are also encouraged to read the books that their children are reading. A conversation about a book, perhaps over dinner, maybe in the car, can be a great way to connect and share perspectives.
