Senior Named Coke Scholarship Semifinalist
Senior Ava Levin was selected as a Semifinalist in the 2023-2024 Coca-Cola Scholars Program.
Ava is among the top 1% of students selected to move forward out of more than 103,800 applicants based on her outstanding leadership, academic achievements and dedication to her community. The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship program in the United States.
Ava's academic achievements during her time at Barstow stood out on her application. She was recently named a 2024 National Merit Commended Scholar and has received 16 academic honors and awards since her freshman year.
She also credits her time in debate as something that has helped her grow as a student and individual. "The amount of time and camps I have gone to have helped me grow," Ava said. Ava has been a member of the debate program since sixth grade. She also started the school chess club and volunteered in the Cloud Forest in Costa Rica over the summer building new irrigation channels. Ava won the Junior Travel Scholarship because of her results on the National Spanish Exam.
