Yearbook Leaders Look Ahead

Even before students receive this year's "Weathercock," rising editors are planning next year's yearbook design and theme. Their brainstorming process began at Walsworth Inspiration Day on Tuesday, April 11.
Juniors Kiley Bourke, Kyanne Carlgren, Lasya Maganti and Andrew Paul attended the workshop at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center. Along with yearbook leadership from schools around the metro, Barstow's next team of editors learned about how to approach theme development and design, and how to manage, motivate and inspire their publication staff.

Faculty advisor Sean Holmes said the workshop lived up to its name, inspiring students to begin developing a school record that is innovative, creative and contemporary. The workshop is sponsored by Walsworth Yearbooks, which prints and publishes the "Weatherock" each year.

Students will also no doubt be inspired by the work of this year's staff, including editors Sophie Brous and Bella Kateusz. The 2022-2023 "Weathercock" will be released after an unveiling assembly on Thursday, May 11.
