Tennis Celebrates Senior Night
The girls tennis team celebrated senior night on Wednesday, Sept. 28, with an impressive victory over St. Michael's.
The Knights picked off two of the first three points in doubles. At #1 doubles, Lia Adams and Zoey Hrabe both had their strongest night at the net and served well for a strong 8-2 win. At #2 doubles, Mary Colombo and Aishi Sethi punctuated their three years as teammates with an impressive 8-1 victory. Sonya Shutka and Sam Hembree played well against a strong St. Michael's #3 team but lost 4-8.
In singles action, Lia Adams at #1 used a strong baseline game and patience to roll to an 8-0 win and Mary Colombo at #2 did the same, flashing strong first serves and a solid all-court game for an 8-0 win, At #3 singles, senior Aishi Sethi came from behind late to win in an exciting tiebreaker, 8-7 (11-9) and was followed at #5 by another exciting finish with Sonya Shutka coming from behind, also, with another tiebreaker win, 8-7 (7-5) to round out a strong 7-2 win over the Guardians.
