Middle & Upper School Students Join the Clubs

At the Upper School Club Fair on Thursday, Sept. 15, students browsed 37 different club selections that will allow students to experience leadership, service, cultures, hobbies, skills and activities. Many of the clubs are returning favorites, like The Pretenders, Barstow's oldest club for students interested in theatre and performance. Knowledge Bowl is back, along with Math Club, Spanish Club, Kariessentes and Robotics.

Students who want to try something new can join the Fantasy Football Club, Sneaker Club (for discussing and trading sneakers), or Animal Appreciation Association. There are also a variety of cultural clubs in this year's group, including the Muslim Student Association, Black Student Union, Asian American Pacific Island Alliance, Jewish Student Union and International Relations and Cultures.

Most clubs will meet weekly during Flex or lunch periods. Clubs registered with Dean of Student Services David Muhammad and provided their faculty sponsor, student organizers and faculty sponsors.
Upper school students promoted 37 clubs at the annual club fair on Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Senior Circle. Middle school also launched its first semester clubs, offering students a dozen options that range from academics to athletics and new hobbies. One hundred percent of middle school students participate in weekly clubs.
