Britt Reid was involved in a life-threatening car accident less than two days before the Chiefs were scheduled to leave for Super Bowl LV.

Britt Reid was placed on administrative leave following the lethal multi-car accident that left two children seriously injured. The collision occurred on February 4th, 2021, and as a result of the accident, a 5-year-old was left with severe brain injuries and has been in a coma for over two weeks now.

The accident took place on the ramp of Interstate 435 when a Chevrolet Impala was stalled on the side of the ramp. The driver called other members of his family for assistance and parked an additional car next to the Chevy Impala. Reid’s collided with the other two vehicles on the rampe. Five-year-old Ariel Young was immediately taken to a local hospital following the incident, and has sustained life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, Reid also sustained injuries that required surgery and was taken to the hospital. The local police said that Reid confessed to be driving under the influence. Britt Reid had two to three drinks, and his eyes also appeared to be “bloodshot red” as the officer noted

In the following weeks of the accident, the Kansas City Chiefs made the decision to no longer employ Britt, although they have made no formal statement. In recent news, Ariel Young is breathing on her own but doctors say that she is still unresponsive. No charges have been filed against Britt Reid.
