Middle School Teams Earns Impressive Win
Middle school debaters continued their season on Thursday, Nov. 19, with another online tournament hosted by DEBATE-Kansas City. Of ten places available to students in the competition, Barstow earned seven of them — including a pair of first place finishes.
Eight graders Tyler Bauman & Mahek Vora placed first in their respective sections. Margo Gonzales & Sara Schmidt placed second, Joshua Mammen placed third, and Daniel Wang & Samantha Hembree placed fifth.
Barstow placed third overall, "which is made all the more impressive as we only compete in one of the five available divisions at the tournament," Coach Lucia Scott said.
