Swim Team Medals at Belton Invitational
The girls swim team competed at the Belton Invitational on Friday, Jan. 20 with swimmers finishing in the top 20 in three different events.
The team featured eight swimmers competing in six different events. The following swimmers had personal best times: Sonya Shkuta and Avani Lakkireddy, both in 50 Freestyle, Izzy Parr in the 100 Freestyle, and Alexandra Huynh in the 100 Backstroke. On Saturday, Jan. 21, four swimmers advanced to the finals (Izzy Parr, Sonya Shkuta, Sydney Georgie, and Alexandra Huynh) in three different events. The 200 Freestyle Relay took 5th overall and won medals! Sonya Shkuta took 15th out of 47 in the 50 Freestyle, Izzy Parr took 19th out of 41 in the 100 Freestyle, and Alexandra Huynh took 14th out of 42 in the 100 Backstroke.
