How To Use SchoolPass

The Barstow School will use a new procedure for reporting student absences, late arrivals and early dismissals beginning Monday, Oct. 27.
The SchoolPass system will replace current forms of communications for reporting student absences, including our attendance phone line, calls to division assistants and emails to assistants or teachers. All communication will now be conducted through the SchoolPass app, an easy-to-use tool that will allow us to spend less time tracking attendance and more time working with our students.

You will receive an email from SchoolPass on Oct. 22 (unless you have already created an account) with a link to download the app. Log in for the first time with Google or the email you provided to the School.

Here are guidelines for using SchoolPass when your student will be absent or late to school:
  • Report before 8 a.m. for early childhood & lower school; before 8:30 a.m. for middle & upper school.
  • We are not currently using the app's late arrival feature. Please use the Report Absence button for both all-day absences and late arrivals. If your student will be late, please provide their expected arrival time.
  • Early Dismissal
    • Enter dismissal time into system at least one hour before pick up.
    • In an emergency, please call your division assistant. Please make every effort to plan ahead for early pick up.
  • Notifications can be toggled on or off.
  • Watch our SchoolPass demonstration.
You may start practicing with the SchoolPass app beginning Thursday, Oct. 23. If you need assistance please contact our Help Desk at 816-277-0479.
