Middle School Robotics Returns

Middle school students who may be interested in robotics are encouraged to join the team this semester.
The middle school robotics team will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays at IDEA Space, and ultimately compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge. Students of all experience levels and interests can bring their talents to the table; skills such as coding, metalworking, graphic design and public speaking are welcome and encouraged.

The robotics program has a long history at Barstow, with teams winning awards since 2006. During the 2024-2025 school year, the upper school FRC Team 1939 participated in several regional competitions around the midwest. Students who participate in robotics at the middle and upper school levels have the opportunity to collaborate, innovate and problem-solve while learning and practicing STEAM skills.

All interested middle schoolers are invited to an informational meeting and initial practice on Tuesday, September 9 from 4-6 p.m.; a bus will depart from the Hall of Champions door at 3:45 p.m. to transport students to IDEA Space.
