Barstow Partners with Sporting KC

The Barstow School proudly partnered with Sporting Kansas City as the title sponsor of its match against  New York City FC on Saturday, July 19, at Children's Mercy Park.
The match brought together students, families, faculty and friends for an unforgettable evening with one of Kansas City’s premier sports organizations.

The celebration began with a high-energy pre-match party on Mazuma Plaza and continued with hundreds of Barstow supporters filling the stands. The school’s presence was more than symbolic—Barstow President and Head of School Art Hall and three students, senior Carlos Salazar, sophomore Lilly Simpson and fourth grader Druv Doshi, participating in the coin toss on the field and represented the School’s mission to develop mind, body and character. Throughout the match, Barstow received shout-outs over the PA system reaching nearly 17,000 fans.

Barstow’s partnership with Sporting KC reflects shared values like discipline, integrity, teamwork, character and excellence. You’ll find Barstow’s name featured at every home game this season—part of a strategic brand alignment with community-focused organizations across the region.

“Our patnership with Sporting KC is about more than visibility,” said Lisa Tulp, Vice President of Marketing and Communication. “It’s about celebrating the best of Kansas City, aligning with organizations that share our values and supporting of the Kansas City community. We want to introduce Barstow in a new way to families throughout the metro, and create meaningful experiences where our students and families share a sense of belonging and connection."

As the School continues to lead in academics, athletics, and STEAM learning at the Dan & Cassidy Towriss IDEA Space, events like this showcase Barstow to a larger population of families looking for the most innovative and excellent independent education in the region.
