"Golden Spoon" Bestowed at Lower School Lunch
Demonstrating character development and modeling leadership, early childhood and lower school students are practicing their best lunchtime manners for a chance to win the “Golden Spoon.”
Students are following these B-A-R-S-T-O-W behavior guidelines for the dining hall:
- Be respectful to the workers and your tablemates.
- Always say please and thank you.
- Remember to use utensils and napkins when needed.
- Stay seated and have polite table conversations.
- Take the right amount of food; you can always go back for more
- Only use a “table talk” voice.
- When leaving, make sure you area is clean.
The grade level that demonstrates the best dining hall etiquette each week wins the coveted “Golden Spoon” award. Kindergarten received the award during week one, followed by first grade in week two.
The winning grade gets to eat at tables decorated with “Golden Spoon” centerpieces made by kindergarten teacher Kim Vasquez.
