Joe Fox
Associate Director of College Counseling
Joe Fox, '04 Barstow graduate, is beginning his third year in the College Counseling Center. Upon graduating from Barstow and completing an undergraduate degree at Grinnell College in Iowa, Joe was a founding member of Teach For America's Kansas City Corps in 2008. Teaching fourth grade in the Kansas City, Missouri school system for two years, Joe returned to Barstow and taught fifth grade for two additional years before moving into the College Counseling Center. During his teaching, Joe earned a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Missouri.
As Associate Director of College Counseling, Joe focuses on helping Barstow students find great college fits. He is a current Executive Board member of the Missouri Association of College Admission Counselors and has presented at numerous national conferences on the topics of college counseling and online learning. Joe enjoys the ever-changing landscape of the college search and application process and values the community found at Barstow.
Joe resides in the River Market area of downtown Kansas City with his wife, Hannah and son, Patrick.
