2026-2027 Academic Technology Manager
The Barstow School is seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as the Academic Technology Manager. The Academic Technology Manager leads the Academic Technology Team in support of the school’s technology education program for students, faculty and staff. This position provides technology training and support, manages academic technology platforms and integrations, and serves as a liaison among faculty, students and IT Services.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Faculty Professional Development for PS–12:
- Oversees the Academic Technology Team
- Provides leadership to Division Technology Coaches
- Plans quarterly Technology Monday meetings in conjunction with Technology Coaches
- Manages the online Faculty Professional Development course in myBarstow
- Meets with faculty individually and in groups on a regular basis
- Evaluates the effective use of technology in the classroom
- Brainstorms and provides ideas and implementation plans for technology integration
- Provides individual and group training
- Provides professional development for new faculty on essential Barstow software
- Provides classroom group instruction for students and faculty on digital platforms, including signing entire grades or classes into Google Classroom and other services
- Facilitates student math and reading diagnostic sessions in the Lower and Middle Schools using i-Ready
2. Academic Technology Systems and Digital Platforms:
- Manages ClassLink, including Roster Server, the Management Console and integrations with vendors such as i-Ready, Scholastic and Seesaw
- Provides JAMF device management and support, including Apple Classroom
- Serves as lead administrator for various digital platforms, including i-Ready, Edpuzzle, Turnitin and Seesaw
- Provides Google Classroom LMS administrative support
- Manages software licenses, including inquiries, quotes, licensing and setup
- Maintains the subscription, app and equipment request form in coordination with division and department heads
3. Faculty/IT Services Liaison:
- Facilitates communication with IT Services regarding faculty projects
- Facilitates communication with teachers during IT Services deployments and updates
- Updates students, faculty and staff regarding the status of technology services
- Coordinates the onboarding and offboarding of all faculty and staff
- Supports the Director of Technology in maintaining parent communication regarding student conduct involving technology
4. Student Technology Teaching and Support:
- Provides new student technology training during the summer and first week of school
- Conducts student technology sessions, including social media, digital citizenship and responsible technology use
- Provides 1:1 student technology training and support
- Supports the administration and use of Securly, as directed by the Director of Technology
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology or equivalent experience
Experience: Previous experience as a Technology Integration Specialist, Technology Coach or in a related educational technology role is recommended but not required. Familiarity with ClassLink or Clever SSO/rostering systems recommended.
